This is, by far, the darkest roast we sell. We roast it somewhere between Full City + and French Roast for the boldest flavor. This bean is dark, shiny, and oily, and leaves a slight smoky taste with every sip.
The Inferno is for anyone who loves the smell of smoke rising from a nearby campfire, or who would happily pick dark chocolate over milk chocolate.
This will brew a great cup of coffee and pull a delicious espresso shot. But this bean may be a bit too oily for consistent use in an automatic espresso machine. If that's what you're into, we recommend you check out The Java.

Taste
Dark roasts are known for their smoky, bold, and (often) bitter flavors. At this level, the nuances of coffee beans from different regions is hardly present. What remains is that characteristic and intoxicating aroma from the roasting process.
Appearance
These beans have a dark, almost black color to them. Surprisingly, darker roasts have slightly less caffeine than their lighter counterparts, as much of it burns off during the roasting process. Dark-roasted beans are also larger and less dense than lighter roasts. This is why a bag of The Inferno seems larger than a bag of The Yirgacheffe, even though they weight the same.
